Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col 3:16
I don’t know about you, but I am tired of church done the way it is because it is just that – “it’s done.” Did you go to church last week? Have you visited church lately? What did you think about what the pastor, or those in attendance, had to say at church this weekend? Was the sermon good? If the modern institution is suppose to be the body of Christ then it is a living corpse. We identify church as a place and not as the living breathing organism that it is… I appreciate the building and those who help the institution run. We were once one of them thinking that this is what God wanted. The whole institution does great things for society, there are many who benefit from what the institution entails. The biggest problem is that the institution is trying so hard to grow that the members in the church are spiritually malnourished. They attend week after week and cannot come to spiritual maturity. We hop around from conference to conference seeking the newest movement of God. The new annointing. Well, there is no new annointing. Christ is enough, anything else is man's attempt to please God.
There are many who depend too much on a pastor to do the leading. Anything that they say is believed and accepted. Christians need to search the scriptures like the Bereans in Acts 17 and verify that what is being proclaimed from the pulpit is true and not tradition. The institution has little influence left upon America. When you first learned of the love of Jesus you were in love with him. There was nothing that would seperate you. Then you became involved in church activities and at the end it became a burden and you just quit going to church all together. Maybe someone offended you and that single act nailed your spiritual coffin and you walked away from church and from God.
You made a grave mistake of affiliating God with church. You must understand that God does not dwell in a building made with hands, he dwells inside of you, his temple. If you left church, or are being called to do so, you will not be alone. You will be with many others who are in the wilderness running toward the hands of our loving God. While visiting us here, we dare and challenge you to prayerfully consider the topics you will read. Use your bible to "study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2Tim2:15).
This will be the beginning of you peeling back the spiritual layers that you have been accustomed to.
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son [as] Savior of the world. 1Jn 4:14
For to this [end] we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is [the] Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 1Tim 4:10
"And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world."
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
